Oval Cut Diamonds
Y. guide will show you how to choose the perfect oval cut diamonds.
There are many plus sides about this diamond shape. One of them is its comparatively large face. When compared to round shaped diamonds of the same weight, ovals have a larger face; and of course ovals are cheaper than round ones, making it a worth-for-money choice. It is a truly great option that should not be overlooked.
Now let’s follow and see tips and tricks from #yjewelrythailand to help you choose this diamond shape with confidence:
#1 : H color up
Because this diamond shape are not good at keeping a yellow tint, any colors that are lower than H color will make the yellow tint much more visible.
#2 : vs clarity up
Oval-shaped diamonds can hide various inclusions well. If you choose a VS diamond grade, it’s almost impossible to see inclusions.
#3 : Length to Width ratio between 1.30 – 1.48
Length to width ratio of 1.30 -1.48 is the ratio that we prefer. The closer it is to 1.4, the lower the bow tie effect becomes.
#4 : Moderate to No Bow Tie Effect
In elongated diamond shapes, you will find a dark shadow like a bow in the middle of the diamond. It is called Bow Tie Effect, something we do not want. We should look for the diamond with a mild effect possible, if not none.
